Why do I need a Wedding Coordinator or Planner?
We get this question a lot. A wedding coordinator or planner may not
be appropriate for every wedding. We find most of the weddings we work
with for full wedding planning are home weddings, tented weddings,
winery weddings, hall weddings, etc. But we do get many requests for
Day of Coordinators with weddings taking place in a "wedding venue."
Why? Mainly for a sense of comfort. A wedding venue still has only one
agenda: the food, the time frame, and amount of people attending. So
how do we help:
1. We are your advocate. Our only agenda is your entire wedding.
2. Saving you money. We try our best to keep you within budget
and advising when over spending has occurred.
Can I afford to have a wedding planner?
Yes, definitely. The best part about Hudson Valley Ceremonies
compared to other wedding planners is that we have other services also.
What does this mean? We do so many different types of weddings a
year that our cost to our clients is less. Some wedding planners do one
wedding a weekend so they have to charge a higher amount. We have
packages for all types of weddings and budgets.
Do you get rude to me and my wedding party like you see on TV?
Never!!!! Our wedding planners love what they do and it shows. We
have a great attitude and a great philosophy. Our philosophy is that if we
smile and treat others with respect it will work wonders and make the
entire situation a happy one.
How much of deposit do you require?
We only accept a $200 deposit and the remaining balance is due after
the ceremony. We accept cash, check, money orders and credit cards.
How far do you travel to perform a wedding?
Our wedding planners travel all over New York, New Jersey, and
Connecticut.
Do you charge travel fees?
Yes, unfortunately we do charge travel fees. Do to the rising cost of
fuel we charge a small fee for traveling to the site of your ceremony. The
first 20 miles from zip code 12572 are free and then there is a charge of
$1.00 per mile.
Where do you do consultations?
We do consultations at our office, your home, a coffee house, diner,
the venue or wedding ceremony location. Basically anywhere that you
want to meet with us.
Do you take over a wedding like you see on TV?
We sit down with our clients and get a thorough understanding as to
how you want your wedding. We make suggestions where necessary but
never insist on changing your ideas. We also never take it upon
ourselves to decide on factors that will impact your wedding. We always
clear decisions with you before changing anything.
